The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) on Wednesday sent Indian astronomers away from Earth. Congratulations on the discovery of one of the most distant galaxies in the universe, estimated to be billions of light-years away.
“NASA congratulates the researchers on their amazing discovery. Science is a collaborative effort around the world and research like this helps mankind understand where we come from, where we go, and where we are alone, ‘Felicia Cho, NASA’s public affairs officer, told ANI.

India’s first multi-wavelength space observatory, the Astros at Te, discovered ultraviolet-UV light from a galaxy 9.3 billion light-years from Earth. AUDFS01 was discovered by a team of astronomers led by Dr. Kanak Sahani from the International University Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) Pune.
India’s Astros at T / UVIT was able to achieve this unique feat because the background noise in the UVIT detector is much lower than the one on the US-based NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope.
India’s first space observation astronaut was launched on September 28, 2015 by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).
