Two leads on Marvel’s Avengers confirm that the story for Spider-Man DLC of 2021 will be completely standalone.
In an interview with Wccftech, developers of Marvel’s Avengers have confirmed that the inclusion of Spider-Man in the game will not interact with the main story in any significant way. His story DLC will be his own story complete. As combat designer Vince Napoli put it in the interview, Sony and Crystal Dynamics want the DLC to be seen as a “cherry on top.”
The status of the wallcrawler as a PlayStation exclusive up to this point has been won in controversy, even though we do not even know a hard date for the DLC beyond “2021.” It could not have been less time on Sony’s part to announce itself as an exclusive character of the platform in the same breath as a host of other changes and other types of announcements that, although not necessarily surprising, seem to everyone but the very Sony fans shout anti-consumer.
