Spider-Man: Miles Morales Introduces Optional 4K / 60FPS Performance Mode

Insomniac Games has announced that Spider-Man: Miles Morales will have an optional “Performance Mode”, which allows for 4K resolution and 60 frames per second.

With 4K / 60fps as “optional” mode, it seems reasonable to assume that some graphic sacrifices will be made from “standard mode” to allow for this improved performance. With the next generation emphasizing resource-intensive technology like Ray Tracing, Performance Mode may turn off those graphic effects to free up power and deflect that at frame rate.IGN has reached out to PlayStation for comment and will update this story if they respond.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales was revealed as part of the broadcast of the PS5 event, and is a new standalone game that follows Spider-Man from PS4. See Miles Morales become Spider-Man as a street war begins, and will include new Marvel villains and a new set of powers exclusive to Miles.
