The quake shook the building and shattered windows, and was felt in the San Diego, Valencia and San Fernando Valley areas. There is no immediate news of anyone being harmed or injured, and the Los Angeles Fire Department has warned residents to be prepared for aftershocks.
The LAFD tweeted, “If shaking starts from the inside, release the cover, grab it. Protect your head + neck until it stops shaking through windows and doors, under cover or under a sturdy interior wall.”
The quake was also felt at Los Angeles International Airport, where crews are inspecting the airfield and terminal for any signs of damage.
