A 17-year-old has been arrested for his alleged involvement in three cases of sexual harassment that occurred in Pasir Ris.
Police said in a statement they received three separate reports of female victims who were harassed by an unknown young man between August 28 and August 31.
Officers from the Bedok Police Division established the youth’s identity and arrested him on Tuesday (September 1).
The young man will be charged in court on Wednesday (September 2) with the crime of insulting the modesty of any person, voyeurism and intentionally causing harassment.
Anyone convicted of insulting the modesty of any person faces up to one year in jail, a fine, or both.
The crime of voyeurism carries a penalty of up to two years in jail, a fine or spanking, or any combination of these penalties.
The crime of intentionally causing harassment under the Harassment Protection Act carries a penalty of up to six months in jail, a fine of up to $ 5,000, or both.
