SHANGHAI (BLOOMBERG) – Lin Qi, CEO of Chinese video game publisher Yoozoo Games, died after being hospitalized amid a Shanghai police investigation into an alleged poisoning case. He was 39 years old.

Yoozoo announced that Lin, the founder, president, and main shareholder, died on Friday (December 25) without giving a specific cause. He was admitted to hospital recently after experiencing discomfort and his condition was “stable,” the Shanghai-based company said in a statement two days ago.

Shanghai police said in a social media post on December 23 that a 39-year-old man with the surname Lin was allegedly poisoned and that a suspect was detained amid the investigation.

Yoozoo, also called Youzu Interactive Co, has released titles that include Game of Thrones: Winter Is Coming.

In September, it struck a deal with video streaming giant Netflix to adapt the sci-fi novel The Three-Body Problem into a series.

Yoozoo said that the company will continue its normal operations and look for a successor for Lin.
