In a joint press release on Wednesday (January 20), the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) and the Singapore Police said that during Phase 3, service and consumption of alcohol in all food and beverage establishments after 10:30 pm they are “strictly prohibited”. under the new law.

On January 7, following an advisory, SFA officers and police caught customers of the Happy Hawkers coffeeshop in block 632 Bukit Batok Central drinking alcohol around 11.20 p.m. Drinks were sold and served at the booth. cafeteria drinks.

Following another tip a week later, officers found customers of the house’s Bistro 8 drinking alcohol at 10.50 p.m. on January 14. The beverages were also sold and served at the booth at Block 31 Kelantan Lane.

“COVID-19 remains a serious threat and we must not be complacent,” the SFA and police said.

“We urge all businesses and members of the public to be socially responsible and continue to comply with Safe Management Measures as we resume activities in Phase 3.”

Under the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) Act, first-time offenders will face a fine of up to S $ 10,000, imprisonment for up to six months, or both. Subsequent offenses can face a fine of up to S $ 20,000, a prison term of up to twelve months, or both.
