WASHINGTON: One of the most prominent Republicans in the United States Congress on Sunday (November 8) urged Donald Trump to “fight hard” and not acknowledge his loss to Joe Biden in the White House race, citing unfounded accusations of President fraud. must be investigated.
Other Republicans sought to walk with more precision, saying that legal challenges must be allowed to unfold.
“We will work with Biden if he wins, but Trump has not lost,” Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina said on Fox News.
“Don’t give in, Mr. President. Fight hard.”

Graham unfoundedly alleged “shenanigans” related to mailed ballots, the method that a large number of Americans preferred in Tuesday’s election due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“It’s the Wild West when it comes to voting by mail,” said Graham, a former Trump critic who turned a tireless supporter.
There is no evidence that fraud was a significant problem affecting voting by mail in the US presidential elections.
“Everything we were worried about has come true, so if we don’t fight in 2020, we will never win presidentially again,” he added.
Other top Republicans were more cautious in their comments, but nonetheless declined to acknowledge that Biden had won, saying that legal challenges must go ahead and vote counting must continue.
“What we need in the presidential race is to make sure every legal vote is counted, every recount is completed, and every legal challenge is heard,” Kevin McCarthy, the top Republican in the House of Representatives, said on Fox News.
“Then, and only then, will the United States decide who won the race.”
Trump has repeatedly made unsubstantiated accusations of fraud and has even claimed that he won the election despite results-based projections showing Biden as the clear winner.
Biden currently has at least 279 electoral votes, with only 270 needed to win. Trump has 214.
