When it rains heavily, it is easier to pick up the phone and get food than it is to tackle the storm yourself.
However, netizens are now wondering whether or not they should order food delivery after a photo of a delivery man soaked to the bone went viral.
The photo that circulated on Facebook yesterday (November 24) captured the back of a GrabFood delivery driver as he returned to his motorcycle in the pouring rain. Along with the plastic bags filled with food, she carried a plastic bag with her shoes inside.
A caption accompanying the photo reads: “Remember that when you order delivery someone is having a difficult time making their delivery, a few little tips for them will help [sic]. “

Many netizens were quick to express their gratitude to the food delivery men in the comment section, with some sharing how they would make sure to tip them as a token of appreciation for their efforts.
But others couldn’t help but wonder, why not refrain from putting delivery men in such a situation and not order food at all?
“Imagine if that’s your family,” commented one netizen.
Some argued that by choosing not to order, they were robbing the couriers of their income, rather than actually helping them.
While netizens couldn’t come to an agreement, a messenger chimed in and told everyone to “please order as usual, even when it’s raining heavily. [sic]. “
“We need orders to feed our families. Let’s not rush,” he added.
He also added a couple of tips for getting customers to order, as well as the job of delivery passengers, a lot easier, like giving clear directions to the destination and being patient while they wait for their order to arrive.
“If not, being kind and encouraging is enough. [sic]”
