This transfer window has been successful for Liverpool.
Some would have argued otherwise a few weeks ago, when Jurgen Klopp had only added one left back to his squad in the form of Kostas Tsimikas and other clubs made high-profile signings.
But the additions of Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota changed things significantly, and the Reds are now looking to have multiple options in all areas of the field.
It wouldn’t be entirely surprising, then, if Klopp is now happy with what he has, especially given that the transfer window for top-flight clubs in Europe is scheduled to close on Monday, October 5.
However, after consultation with the EFL, and because FIFA allows a summer transfer window of up to 12 weeks, an additional national window in England will be extended from October 5 to 5 pm on October 16.
Klopp may therefore be tempted to delve into the secondary market, with some in-demand players still potentially available in the EFL.
So here are the latest Sky Bet odds around three Football League players who think they are more likely to make a late trade to Anfield.

David Brooks 1/12
The Wales international has been inevitably linked to various Premier League clubs after Bournemouth’s relegation last season.
He is 23 years old and has done more than enough in previous seasons to suggest that he is too good for the second division.
Sky Bet has Manchester United, Sheffield United and Leicester ahead of Liverpool in the race to sign Brooks, although that could change quickly.
The question for the Reds is where the Bournemouth man would fit on the team. He can play as a more central attacking midfielder, or on the right of a forward three, but Liverpool are well supplied in that area of the field.
For that reason, it seems unlikely that Brooks will be on Liverpool’s radar as things stand.
Ismaila Sarr 1/8
Not long ago reports surfaced that Liverpool had accepted an offer for Sarr and that personal terms were being discussed.
It’s unclear if the transfer was this close to completion, but it certainly looks like the Reds were interested.
And they had a good reason. Sarr was exceptional in February when Watford ended Liverpool’s long unbeaten streak in the Premier League with a 3-0 victory at Vicarage Road. He scored twice that night, impressing against Virgil van Dijk and company. with his game of direct and fast attack.
The appeal was obvious. Sarr is 22 years old, has years ahead of him to refine his game and would have provided cover for all three forwards.
However, the arrival of Jota has likely changed Liverpool’s position, and Sarr will not be cheap, so it probably isn’t really necessary given the Reds’ most recent signing.
United and Villa are now less likely to sign the Senegalese international as well, but there is still a chance that Liverpool will see Sarr as a long-term investment.
Todd Cantwell 1/12
Cantwell, another attacking midfielder just beginning to establish himself in the Premier League, seems unlikely to stay in Norwich for long.
He’s talented enough to play at the top flight for a team better than last season’s relegation fighters.
Again, though, Liverpool probably won’t see him as a valuable addition simply because of the players already on their squad. Curtis Jones plays a similar role and hindering his development would be counterproductive.
It seems more likely that Leeds will move for Cantwell, supported by its 11/10 odds. Aston Villa is also believed to be interested, so it could be that the 22-year-old is still a bit off the mark required to win the trade to Liverpool.
