A 30-year-old man was arrested for his alleged involvement in a voyeurism case in which he allegedly took a photo under the skirt of a woman and then assaulted her before fleeing.
Police received a report on the incident on September 23, around 10 p.m., about how the man allegedly took the photo inside the one-block elevator along 5 Hougang Avenue.
“When the victim confronted the man, he allegedly punched him twice on the cheek and fled the scene,” police said in a statement on Friday (September 25).
Through investigations and with the help of police camera footage, officers from the Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the man’s identity and arrested him on September 24.
Police investigations are ongoing.
The crime of voyeurism carries a jail term of up to two years and / or a fine and / or flogging.
For allegedly beating the victim, the man is also being investigated for willfully causing harm, which carries a jail term of up to three years and / or a fine of up to $ 5,000.
