SINGAPORE: The only COVID-19 case in the community reported on Monday (December 21) was touring the southern islands in a group of 12 on December 14, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) reported.

Investigations are underway to assess whether there were any violations of safe management measures when the 39-year-old Singaporean woman was on tour with three families, including her own, the Health Ministry said on Monday.

The woman is asymptomatic and was detected when she was tested for COVID-19 before a scheduled cruise trip.

They took her by ambulance to the National Center for Infectious Diseases the next day, when her test came back positive.

The National Public Health Laboratory has conducted further tests to verify that it is positive for COVID-19 infection and the result of its serological test is pending, the ministry said.

The woman lives at 93 Jurong West Street and had been working at Ruising Chemicals at 18 Boon Lay Way before her test result was confirmed, the Health Ministry added.

“Epidemiological investigations are in progress. Meanwhile, all of their identified close contacts, including their family members and co-workers, have been isolated and quarantined and will be evaluated at the beginning and end of their quarantine period so that we can detect cases. asymptomatic ”, said the Ministry of Health.

Serological tests will also be performed on your household and family contacts to determine if you may have been infected by them.

In response to the CNA’s inquiries, Ruising Chemicals said they are in close communication with the Health Ministry to “get more clarity” and have updated the ministry with relevant details about the case.

“Everyone is working from home until we have more clarity on the situation,” the company said.

In addition to the single community case, Singapore also reported nine imported COVID-19 cases on Monday.
