The Ministry of Education (MOE) announced that it will delay the requirement for students to use the TraceTogether (TT) token until everyone has received their token or downloaded the mobile app.

The MOE previously stated that students must register with schools using the tokens or the TraceTogether app before December 1, with December marked as the grace period in which students can still scan their NRIC or student pass to enter. the schools.

All schools will gradually implement the use of SafeEntry for TT only beginning December 1.
The move is to complement existing secure contact tracing efforts to ensure contract tracing is carried out quickly and effectively, according to the MOE’s recently updated FAQ section on precautionary measures in schools.
Everyone over the age of seven must use the TraceTogether app or token.
The Ministry of Education also encouraged students to bring their TT token to school to facilitate contact tracing once the implementation is applied, as students may not have access to their phones at all times due to classes. or outdoor activities.
The ministry also said that school staff will help students transition to using TraceTogether.
Parents and students can collect TT Tokens at Community Centers / Clubs (CC) in their constituency when the collection exercise begins in their respective constituencies.
The FAQ also seeks to address some of the concerns of parents regarding SafeEntry for TT only. It states that in case a student does not have the TT application, misplaces or forgets to bring their TT Token, they will not be denied entry to the schools.
