SINGAPORE – A 35-year-old man accused of fatally stabbing a woman in Jurong East had allegedly wounded her with a razor in November last year.
Zheng Xianfeng, a Chinese national, faced two charges, including last year’s alleged crime, before being charged on Thursday (February 18) with murdering Tham Mee Yoke.
Tham, 34, was found immobile with multiple stab wounds on the empty deck of Block 308 Jurong East Street 32 by police, after they were alerted Tuesday at 11:55 p.m.
She was unconscious when she was taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and was pronounced dead around 1.30 am the next day.
On Wednesday, the Singapore Civil Defense Force received a call for help at 12.05 am and said two people were taken to hospital.
Police said Wednesday that Zheng and Tham know each other.
According to court documents, Zheng is said to have intentionally injured Tham with a knife on November 17 last year in the open space parking lot next to Block 349 Jurong East Avenue 1.
He is also charged with causing a nuisance on January 16 of this year by lying in the parking lot near Block 316 Jurong East Street 32 and screaming while drunk.
Zheng’s case is expected to be heard again on March 11.
