A driver was caught on camera using a mobile device while traveling on Marina Way and ignoring the honks of another driver.

Stomper RayTan shared dash cam footage of the incident that his passenger recorded on Saturday (Nov 21), around 12.15pm

RayTan said: “I first saw his car at a red light on Sheares Avenue and honked, but he seemed to be busy watching video and then turned right onto Shenton Way.

“I’m not sure if he was watching a movie, but the device he was holding was larger than a normal cell phone.

“I honked at him a couple of times, but he didn’t care.”

When asked how he felt about the incident, RayTan told Stomp: “He’s a bad driver and he doesn’t seem to care at all.”

Under the Road Traffic Law, a driver of a vehicle who holds a mobile communication device in his hand and operates any of its communication or other functions while the vehicle is in motion on a road or in a public place is guilty of a crime.

Violators can face a fine of up to $ 1,000 and / or a jail term of up to six months.
