The beefy boar gets caught between the railings, the man slaps his butt to cheer him up

Wild boars seem to be a common sight these days.

Last week, a wild boar pounced on a woman’s bike in Pulau Ubin in an attempt to take off with a few puffs of curry.

In another wild boar sighting, Facebook user Zarin Yusri shared a video of a pair of wild boars trapped between the railings.

The video, which was posted on the Singapore Hikers Facebook group on Thursday (November 26), has gone viral after circulating on social media.

In the video, a wild boar can be seen stuck between the railings as his friend steps aside to watch the fight.

Then the friend tries to get through the railings, but also gets stuck.

Subsequently, the first boar manages to free himself and crosses the railing, leaving his friend in the lurch.

The stuck boar then pauses for a good five seconds for comic effect before starting to fight and move, but to no avail.

Later in the video, a runner walks by and tries to move the railing to let the boar pass. That also seems in vain.

The runner then leans over and gives the boar a couple of pats on its butt while making high-pitched grunts in a desperate attempt to break free.

The video is then cut abruptly, leaving netizens curious about what happened next.

In response to a query from Stomp, Dr. Adrian Loo, group director for Wildlife Conservation and Management at the National Parks Board (NParks), said: “If you come across a wild boar, stay as calm as possible and move slowly away from the animal. Keep a safe distance and do not corner or provoke the animal. “

Dr Loo added that if adult warthogs are seen with young piglets, members of the public are reminded to keep their distance and leave them alone as they are potentially more dangerous and may attempt to defend their young.

Members of the public can also call the Animal Response Center at 1800-476-1600 or contact NParks to report any encounters with wild boar.
