The much loved reproduction song legend SP Balasubrahmanyam passed away this afternoon at 1.04pm after suffering cardiac arrest. He was admitted to MGM Hospital in Chennai since August 5 after testing positive for mild coronavirus symptoms, but his condition deteriorated first on night 13 and after recovering somewhat once more on September 24.
KS Chithra, the legend of female reproduction singing, has posted her emotional tribute to SPB on her Twitter page writing “An era is over. Music will never be the same again. The world will never be the same again. The words. are not enough to thank you for guiding me to be a better singer. I cannot think of a concert without your great and gracious presence. Condolences and prayers to Savithriamma, Charan, Pallavi & Family.
SPB and Chithra are one of the most successful duo singers in Indian cinema and have recorded over 2,500 songs together, mostly in Kannada and Telugu, followed by Tamil.
