The extension comes days after San Francisco County health officials, along with five other Bay Area counties, said they would review the “shelter-in-place” orders that expire on Sunday.

New orders will maintain current restrictions and extend them through May, with limited facilitation for a small number of low-risk activities.

The company was not immediately available for a request for comment from Reuters.

The electric car maker suspended all nonessential workers last month and implemented pay cuts during the closure of its production facilities in the United States due to the coronavirus outbreak.
