The impulsive young man who angered Singaporeans after he slapped his own mother in a TikTok video “regrets what he did,” his school has said.

Surveillance footage of the violent incident appeared online yesterday (October 4) on Facebook, garnering more than 2,900 shares as of this writing.

The clip appeared to be a re-post of a TikTok video from a now-defunct user, @rainbowcontent. It is unclear how the user obtained the footage.

In the shocking three-minute video, the teenager, who remains unidentified, is shown hitting the woman on the head after she said she couldn’t give her any more money because she “had no more” and was “powerless.”

He also repeatedly slapped her and cursed her as she sat on the floor, apparently trying to put together some white storage containers.

The woman protested, telling the boy, “I’m doing things for you, you still have to appreciate.”

But he continued to beat her and warned her not to “respond.”

“I already tell you how many times,” he added, pointing his finger at her face.

The video was cut after the woman asked the boy, “So how do you treat Mom?”

While the video appears to have been removed from TikTok, it was quickly re-uploaded to other social media platforms, where it had netizens in arms.

Many were disturbed by the boy’s behavior and asked the authorities to get involved.
