Derek shared that he was visiting the Jurassic Mile with his family and housekeeper when he suddenly heard a ‘thud.

Derek then saw that his domestic helper had “knelt” on the ground, “held his head and started crying.”

He shared that his assistant had been hit by a stray golf ball that came from the Tanah Merah Country Club, which has a golf course and is located just off the Jurassic Mile.

He added that his assistant had suffered a bruised head injury but is “fine” so far.

Derek suggested that Jurassic Mile visitors should keep their “umbrellas open” and encouraged cyclists to “keep their helmets on” in case something like this happens again.

He ended the post by thanking CAG for “doing everything possible to help.”

In response to a query from Stomp, a Tanah Merah Country Club spokesperson said they are very sorry to learn that a visitor was hit by a stray golf ball on the Jurassic Mile track.

“We are already in contact with CAG, the developer of the Jurassic Mile runway, and they are looking to improve the safety features of the runway,” the spokesperson added.

“We are working closely with the CAG in this regard. One possibility that is being explored is to place nets in that area to avoid further accidents.”

CAG also said in a statement that they regret this unfortunate incident, adding that such an incident has never happened on Jurassic Mile before.

“Immediate assistance was provided to the visitor last night, and CAG is in contact with the family to verify her status,” a CAG spokesperson said.

“CAG is looking for additional ways to further minimize the risk of stray golf balls heading towards the Jurassic Mile, such as placing nets in that area.”
