Swaying on the edge: woman rescued from building ledge in Ubi, Singapore news

A 42-year-old woman sitting on a ledge in the Vertex building was rescued on Wednesday (October 28), Stomp reported.

The Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) told AsiaOne that they received the call for assistance at 33 Ubi Avenue 3 around 1.10pm.

Upon arrival, she was seen sitting on a ledge. SCDF deployed a safety air pack as a precaution.

Two bystanders, one named Mark and one who declined to be identified, shared photos of the incident with Stomp.

A video clip taken by one of the passers-by showed a group of SCDF agents deploying a safety net from the building as they rescued the woman from the ledge.

No injuries were reported.

Subsequently, the police arrested the woman under article 7 of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act.
