SINGAPORE – A 55-year-old man was charged on Tuesday (September 15) with the murder of a 67-year-old man.
Chng Hock Choon is accused of killing Miskiman Maakip in a patch of grass near Block 5 Beach Road around 3pm Sunday.
The suspect appeared in state court Tuesday via a video link from the Central Police Division, where he is currently in pretrial detention.
The judge ordered that he be sent for psychiatric observation at the Changi Penitentiary Complex Medical Center.
Chng’s case will be brought up again in court in three weeks, on October 6.
If convicted, he faces the death penalty.
