Student cop looking for a husband in Carousell? Just kidding, Singapore News

If you’re a “Singapore guy” hoping to get a girlfriend for free, as a polytechnic student in Carousell announced, you’re out of luck.

The list, which advertised the woman as “willing to marry all the boys in Singapore” is a joke, Oriental Daily News reported on Wednesday (September 23).

When contacted by the Malaysian newspaper, the woman’s father confirmed that a police report had been made on the matter and declined to comment further.

The list in question, posted by a now-missing user, linda4082, described the woman as a “used” item and included her for free.

It included a photograph of a young woman and personal details such as her name, phone number and school.

“I’m trying to get married in Carousell,” read the list, which was quickly captured and shared on social media.

“Please call me or my father if you want to marry me.”

In response to inquiries from AsiaOne, a Carousell spokesperson confirmed that the listing has been removed and that the user’s account has since been deactivated.

In accordance with the rules of the online marketplace, listings must not contain another person’s personal information, nor must they be offensive, defamatory or harassing in nature.
