The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) responded after a man was caught on video dragging a ‘shaking’ dog on a leash outside of Tang Plaza on Saturday (November 7).
Stomper Clovis He was at Tangs department store at 1.30pm when he saw what happened and shared a photo and video.
In the video, the man can be seen dragging a dog on a leash as he walks away.
“I saw this man with a dog and the dog looked very scared and scared,” Clovis said.
“He was shaking the whole time and the man kept pulling him and forcing him to move.
“The dog was shaking a lot and many passersby saw what happened.
“Before I took the video, the man stood to the side and started talking to himself.
Then he began to walk and forcefully pull the dog, telling him to walk straight. “
Clovis added that she is not sure if the dog belongs to the man.
“Clearly he doesn’t care about the dog at all, and that’s not the way to treat an animal,” she said.
In response to a question from Stomp, SPCA CEO Dr. Jaipal Singh Gill said: “This is an inappropriate way to walk a dog and it is concerning to hear that the dog was also ‘shaking and shivering’. These are signs of fear and anguish. “
Dr. Gill added that a dog should not be dragged on a leash.
“The SPCA is pleased to provide advice to the pet guardian and you can contact us at [email protected],” said Dr. Gill.
“We thank the member of the public for speaking on behalf of the dog.”
Stomp has contacted the Veterinary and Animal Service (AVS) for more information.
