Cristiano Ronaldo, considered one of the best footballers of all time, has been temporarily ruled out to work with the Portugal team after testing positive for the coronavirus.

“The Portuguese international is well, without symptoms and isolated,” the Portuguese football federation said in a statement Tuesday afternoon. Portugal will play Sweden on Wednesday in Lisbon as part of the Nations League tournament.

Ronaldo was one of the Portuguese players who faced the French team of Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappé on October 11. Bernardo Silva of Manchester City and Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes repeated tests for Covid-19 on Tuesday, which came back negative.

Actions in Turin Juventus Football Club SpA, where Ronaldo plays professionally, fell as much as 6.9% in Milan operations after the news.

Ronaldo, 35, is considered one of the best players of his time alongside Argentine star Lionel Messi. Ronaldo has won five UEFA Champions League titles during his career and holds the record for the most goals in the Champions League.
