The first employee, who went to work during his infectious period, has so far been linked to a 65-year-old Singaporean woman who tested positive for the disease on August 23.

On Thursday, the Health Ministry also reported that a 31-year-old Singaporean woman tested positive after visiting the camera store on August 17 and “may have had contact” with the 61-year-old employee.

As a precautionary measure after the 31-year-old woman tested positive, the Health Ministry said it would communicate and facilitate COVID-19 testing for everyone who had visited the camera store between August 15-18.

LAST CASE DETECTED DURING THE SECOND TEST

On August 20, SLR Revolution wrote on Facebook that all of its staff members working at the Excelsior branch were quarantined for 14 days after the first employee tested positive.

On August 25, he said that although employees at his Excelsior branch had tested negative for COVID-19, they would not return to work until September 1. The store was reopened on Friday, staffed by employees from its Jurong Point branch, it added.

The company wrote on Facebook on Sunday night that its employees at the Excelsior branch had performed a second swab test and a serological test before the quarantine order was finalized.

“Unfortunately, one of our (quarantined) staff … tested positive after the second swab test,” SLR Revolution said.

“This is an unfortunate COVID-19 situation and we seek understanding from our customers. We will closely monitor the situation closely to ensure the well-being of our customers and our people. “

The Health Ministry said Sunday that it has identified and contacted 240 people so far. In total, 224 people have been sampled and their results are pending.

The Ministry of Health is facilitating testing for the remaining people.
