SINGAPORE – There was a new confirmed coronavirus case at noon on Monday (November 2), the lowest since February 25, which also had a single patient.

The case is an imported patient who had been put on notice to stay at home upon arrival in Singapore.

There were no new cases in the community or in the workers’ bedrooms.

Monday’s new case brings Singapore’s total to 58,020.

More details will be announced Monday night.

On Sunday, the Health Ministry reported that there were four new coronavirus infections.

All were imported cases and had been listed on stay-at-home notices, and were tested while their notices were being delivered.

The Health Ministry did not announce any cases in the community or inside the dormitories on Sunday.

The four imported cases include two permanent residents: a 37-year-old man who returned from India and a 51-year-old woman who returned from Great Britain. The symptoms began on October 23.

The other two patients are employed here. One is a 32-year-old Dutch man who has a work pass that came from Holland; the other is a 31-year-old Filipino work permit holder who came from the Philippines.

All four tested positive last Saturday.

MINSA said that only two cases of community transmission have been registered in the last week. The infections are not related.

Hospitals and community isolation facilities discharged 11 patients Sunday, bringing the number of people who have fully recovered from the virus to 57,909.

There were 46 patients in the hospital on Sunday, none in intensive care, while 21 were recovering in community facilities.

Singapore has had 28 deaths from Covid-19 complications, while 15 who tested positive have died from other causes.

Globally, the virus outbreak, which began in December last year, has infected more than 46 million people. About 1.2 million people have died.
