SIA stewardess shows what it’s like to work on a plane during Covid-19, Lifestyle News

We all know that a lot has changed since Covid-19 happened. Working from home, wearing a mask, having to do SafeEntry scans everywhere, the list goes on.

For airline hostesses, they now have to deal with more things to do and take note of when they are working on the plane. In a video posted on Singapore Airlines (SIA) Facebook on Tuesday (November 10), air hostess Nur Surya invited spectators to accompany her on her flight to Frankfurt and gave us a glimpse of everything that is happening now on board, including backstage.

The first thing you need to do after reporting to the control center is pick up a pair of glasses. “In addition to surgical masks, the crew is now required to wear the goggles during flight,” he shares.

Another new item on a SIA flight attendant’s to-do list? Organize care kits, containing a mask, hand sanitizer, and sanitizing wipe, along with passenger headphones in a cart.

Once the flight takes off, the flight crew will make the usual announcements on board, although there are now additional announcements related to Covid-19, such as: “In view of Covid-19, adjustments have been made to some of the services on this flight for your well-being. “Since the flight is to Frankfurt, the same instructions must also be repeated in German.

Other in-flight tasks shown to us on video include spraying and cleaning common areas such as restrooms, as well as catering, where hostesses are shown wearing disposable gloves before serving breakfast to passengers.

One of the perks of an airline crew that we always envied was the ability to explore a foreign country every time they fly.

However, this is no longer the case, as Surya shares from her hotel room in Frankfurt that she will be in quarantine for the entire time she is in Germany. “This is also another step taken to reduce any risk of exposure, protecting myself and everyone in Singapore,” he says.

Promotional video aside, SIA appears to be taking no chances when it comes to ensuring its members and passengers are safe. And it seems that despite the additional duties and responsibilities, the crew is happy to be flying again.
