SINGAPORE: Singapore Airlines (SIA) said on Monday (November 2) that it closed reservations for tours of its training facilities due to “overwhelming demand.”
The airline said it received more than 6,800 individual registrations after reservations opened Sunday at 10 a.m. M. Each record can have a group of up to five people.
This is much more than the capacity of the tour. The training facilities can accommodate up to 500 clients each day due to COVID-19 safe distancing measures, SIA said.
Tours will run over two weekends: November 21, November 22, November 28, and November 29.

The five additional options, including a flight simulator experience, a wine appreciation session and a preparation workshop, also received “overwhelming response and are currently over-subscribed,” the airline said.
“Successful customers will receive an email within three business days, and they must submit their payment within 48 hours to confirm their reservation,” SIA said.
“All tours and add-on options will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and will be confirmed with payment.”
Admission tickets are priced at S $ 30 for adults and S $ 15 for children, not including GST and without the additional options.

The tour is part of the initiatives launched by SIA last month to engage clients who have been unable to travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
There was a dining experience in an A380, as well as a home delivery service with first class and business class meals.
SIA said Monday that for its home delivery service, it has received more than 500 orders to date, with about two-thirds for first-class packages.
“SIA is grateful for the extremely strong support from our customers and we look forward to welcoming them to the Inside Singapore Airlines experience,” said the airline.
