The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) is investigating an incident in which a ‘hospital biohazard bag’ was allegedly found along with a food delivery order on August 29.

Stomper Kate informed Stomp about the incident and said he placed his order through Foodpanda at 4.49pm from the MOS Burger store in Paya Lebar Square.

A photo sent by Kate shows a transparent biohazard bag from Singapore General Hospital (SGH) inside a plastic bag that also contained a paper bag with her food.

The words ‘for laboratory use’ can be seen printed on the biohazard bag.

“I found an SGH biohazard bag inside the takeout bag with my MOS Burger meal,” Kate said.

“I was surprised and also scared because I have no idea what this bag was used for previously.

“I contacted Foodpanda as it was their passenger who delivered the food.

“Since then, Foodpanda has reimbursed me the full amount, but they did not explain how the biohazard bag ended up along with my food.

“MOS Burger also informed me that they are contacting Foodpanda to investigate the matter.

“According to MOS Burger, the Foodpanda courier could have gone somewhere else before delivering my food.”
