Extraordinary scenes have occurred in Paris after a member of Istanbul Basaksehir’s coaching staff was allegedly the subject of a racist comment from the fourth official during his match against PSG.
The Turkish champions decided to leave the field in response to the comment of the match official, who is said to have described one of the visitors as “this black guy”.
Footage from the match captured former Newcastle and Chelsea striker Ba speaking to the referee.
“You never say, ‘This white guy.’ Why when you mention a black man, you have to say this black man ”, you can hear him say.
The match was subsequently suspended and the PSG players left with the support of Istanbul Basaksehir.
Ian Wright was one of several prominent soccer figures who took to social media to express his support for Ba and Istanbul Basaksehir.
