SINGAPORE – A second young man linked to the SG Nasi Lemak Telegram chat group hosting images of women up their skirts in Singapore has been treated.

The 18-year-old, who pleaded guilty on October 21 to being in possession of 59 obscene films, was sentenced on Wednesday (December 2) to one year of probation.

The clips were found on his mobile phone.

The young man cannot be identified, as he was 17 years old when he committed the crime in October last year. The Childhood and Adolescence Act covers young people under 18 years of age.

As part of his sentence, the adolescent must stay home every day from 10 a.m. to 6 a.m. and perform 40 hours of community service.

His parents were insured for $ 5,000 to ensure his good behavior.

Justin Lee Han Shi, another young man linked to the chat group, was sentenced to one year of probation in October.

The 20-year-old had admitted to being in possession of more than 400 obscene films last year.

The cases involving two other suspected criminals, Leonard Teo Min Xuan, 27, and Liong Tianwei, 38, are still pending.

The group had around 44,000 members when it was active and used the platform to share obscene photos and videos of women in Singapore.

Officers from the Ang Mo Kio Police Division had arrested the four for their “alleged involvement in circulating obscene materials and promoting vicious activities” via the chat group.

The group, which was supposedly created two years ago, charged $ 30 as an entrance fee.

She made headlines after a Twitter user stated on September 30 last year that she had been mentioned in the Telegram chat group.

Other Twitter users then reached out to express their disgust at the content circulating on SG Nasi Lemak.

The court heard that police raided the teenager’s home on October 14 last year and admitted that he was a member of the group.

Officers confiscated his mobile phone, which was later found to contain pornography.

For being in possession of obscene films, a criminal can be imprisoned for up to six months and fined up to $ 20,000.
