SINGAPORE (STOMP) – Police said Tuesday (October 6) that they are investigating an incident involving a student who was caught on camera repeatedly beating his mother.

Several contributors had alerted citizen journalism website Stomp to a TikTok video of the incident that has been circulating on social media.

The video has a timestamp of September 29 at 9:21 PM.

In the video, a young man in a Geylang Methodist School (secondary) uniform can be seen talking to a woman sitting on the ground. The woman refers to herself as “mom” in the video.

At one point, the young man is seen slapping his mother repeatedly as she exclaims “No! I’m doing this for you, you must … appreciate, you know” and tries to push him away.

She also says “Come and do it yourself, are you fed up or not?” and “Keep calling me faster, faster, faster,” causing me to slap her twice more.

“Slap, slap! Slap, slap!” the woman is heard screaming.

The child then says “I tell you how many times already”, to which his mother replies: “So how do you treat Mom?”

In response to an inquiry from Stomp, police confirmed that a report was filed and that they are investigating the case.

When contacted, the school declined to comment, citing that the matter is currently under police investigation.
