SINGAPORE – Police had to disperse a crowd that gathered outside a uniform shop in Ang Mo Kio on Tuesday morning (December 29), many of whom were there to buy school uniforms for their children before they classes start next week.
Many parents had arrived at the Jeep Sing Fashion store around 8 a.m., two hours before it opened, to purchase a queue ticket.
By around 10 a.m., more than 100 people had formed a meandering queue to enter the store located in Block 4012, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10, with some ignoring the one meter safe distance requirement.
Then six police officers were seen outside the uniform store urging parents to stay further away and encouraging some to leave.
About 70 people who had tickets in line stayed in line.
On its website, the store advised customers not to show up as all the queue tickets for the day had been issued.
