A woman has a message for the person who found and collected her husband’s handbag, which was mistakenly left on the roof of the couple’s car and ended up falling onto the road.

Stomp contributor Wawanein, who was riding in the car with her family, said the incident occurred in front of the Woodlands Civic Center on Saturday (Nov. 29), around 9 p.m.

The tote bag contained $ 10,000 hard-earned cash that the family had painstakingly earned from their business and was going to deposit.

They mistakenly left it on the roof of their car and left in the vehicle, but they didn’t realize it until it was too late.

Wawanein recounted: “We left Causeway Point around 9:03 pm. Based on the footage from our dash cam, we dropped the clutch bag around 9:06 pm.”

However, the family was still unaware of the loss and continued to travel to Lavender.

“We arrived at Lavender around 9.35pm and found that we had lost our handbag. We checked our camera to find out more and found that the bag had fallen off in front of the Woodlands Civic Center,” Wawanein said.

“We immediately returned to the scene. It was around 9.46pm to 9.50pm by then.”

Unfortunately, the tote bag disappeared despite search efforts.

A police report has been made, but Stomp’s associate has since accepted the loss.

Wawanein added: “The amount in the exchange is around $ 10,000, which we wanted to deposit, but now we have lost. We are doing business and it is really hard-earned money, especially during this Covid-19 period.

“At first, we feel angry, sad, and regretful, wishing so badly that we could go back in time and do things right.

“At first it is very difficult to say all this, but after a day passed, we learned to forgive so it does not overwhelm us and we can move on.

“We didn’t want to give up but we really have to say, if the person wanted to return it, they would have called us because our ID is on the bag.

“Now, we are waiting for a miracle to happen.”

Although Wawanein is not optimistic about getting the money back, he doesn’t blame the person who found it. Instead, expect them to make good use of the cash.

The Stomp contributor said: “We know we are unlikely to get the money back, especially during this period. We just wanted to share this message so that hopefully it reaches the person who found the bag.

“Who knows where the money went or who took it, we sincerely let them use it.

“Please use the money wisely. Maybe it can help you pay off any debt you have, help feed your family, or help you in other ways.

“This is our mistake and our carelessness but it has helped us learn a lot.

“Maybe this is our luck and something good will happen instead. As long as we are in good health, we can get the money back.”

“We look forward to good health and other blessings in return.”
