PC and console updates should fix widespread bugs

Amid widespread bug reports, a CD Projekt Red employee has said that Cyberpunk 2077 will be a “different game” with an upcoming console update. CD Projekt has also confirmed that the PC version Day 0 patch includes “some but not all” of the release version fixes.

Responding to questions from fans on Twitter after many reviews, including IGN ones, it was noted that the game suffered from numerous distracting bugs, CDPR’s Fabian Döhla explained that “a lot of issues that the reviewers found (and reported) have already been fixed, some more are part of the update.”

When asked if the Xbox One X version of the game will benefit from an update, Döhla answered, “It’s a different game with console update, yes.”

IGN reviewed the game on PC, with a substantial Day 0 patch installed, but still found a variety of bugs. In a statement to Pc gamer, a CDPR spokesperson explained that this update contained “some but not all of the patches and fixes that people will experience when the game is released.” This is consistent with previous tweets from Döhla, which seemed to confirm that the game would receive an additional release patch.

Bugs in Cyberpunk have become a major topic of discussion after the first wave of reviews of the game. IGN’s Tom Marks explained that “the amount of bugs I’ve experienced really needs to be mentioned. I’ve only been able to play Cyberpunk 2077 on a PC with a GeForce RTX 3080 GPU, and as of this writing, I have yet to get my hands on it. PlayStation or Xbox versions, but the problems I encountered were extremely frequent and distracting. “

With bugs marking one of the few complaints we had about Cyberpunk 2077 on PC, this is encouraging news, although be sure to check back with us after launch on December 10 for the rundown of what really changed.
