It’s been seven years since we last saw Patricia Mok on the small screen, and the local actress and comedian knows it too, because she openly admitted that she was a bit rusty during filming.
In an interview for her upcoming Chinese drama series A Jungle Survivor, the 49-year-old revealed to 8world: “The cameras used now are different than in the past. Sometimes I wasn’t sure if the camera was filming me.
“I have been filming movies and other similar projects in recent years and it had been a long time since I did dramas. He did not know how far he should go.
“During the filming of the first few episodes, the director had to help me get the rhythm and feel.”
He also joked that he had trouble memorizing his lines with age and memory decline.
In A Jungle Survivor, Patricia plays Sandra, a two-faced backstabbing character who is seen as the company’s ‘snake’. She admitted to having difficulties in capturing the essence of the character, since the latter is the polar opposite of her.
She said: “I’ve always been outspoken and never speak behind someone’s back. But this character is deceptive and always machines behind people’s backs. I couldn’t do it! So I thought about how I would joke and make fun of my friends, and I used that sentiment for reference. “
Patricia also said that office politics exists in show business, and the only rule to follow is to do your job right and you won’t have to be afraid of doing the wrong thing.
“In the past, my colleagues would warn us when the boss would come. But I would not do anything different because I always do the best I can at my job and I don’t need to wait until the boss is monitoring me to show that I am doing my job well. Those who say those things are people who tend to goof off. “
She is single now but is okay with it, adding that work is more important right now. She joked that since social gatherings are limited to five people, she wouldn’t have an extra seat for her boyfriend, so it’s better to be single.
One thing you can’t tolerate in your partner is cheating, he added.
She recounted an incident: “It was late at night and a suitor came looking for my boyfriend. I was in bed and he let her in! I told her angrily that either she was leaving or I was leaving. In the end, I won. .. “
A Jungle Survivor will be available on meWATCH beginning November 9 and will premiere on Channel 8 on November 11 at 9 p.m.
