SINGAPORE – There will be arrangements to help seniors redeem and use their SingapoRediscovers digital vouchers when the plan begins next month.
These include setting up physical counters at community centers to help them make reservations and organize small-group tours for them, State Minister for Trade and Industry Alvin Tan said on Tuesday (November 3).

Tan said the government is aware that some older people may need help using the vouchers, which are valid until the end of June 2021.
The booking platforms for the coupons (Klook Travel Technology, UOB Travel Planners, Changi Travel Services and GlobalTix) will establish physical counters to help them, in addition to the digital platforms.
The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) is working with the People’s Association (PA) to install the counters in some community centers, and each City Housing Board has at least one.
Up to 66 counters will be installed across the island, including those on designated reservation platforms, he said.
Seniors who need help making reservations can go to the counters, where ambassadors will help them with their redemptions and purchases, Tan added.
STB will also establish a hotline to attend public inquiries.
“To help seniors who are left alone or have little social support to use their vouchers, STB will explore working with social service organizations and PA to facilitate voucher use, for example by organizing small-group tours for individuals older when possible, “he said. said.
He noted that the validity period of the voucher covers the school holidays of December, March and June, and the periods of less activity between them would be suitable for seniors or those who are not working to use them.
Addressing security concerns, Tan said that STB is working with relevant government agencies and standby platforms to develop safeguards against fraud.
“Using SingPass will provide secure authentication for coupon distribution and will help mitigate fraud,” he said.
To avoid falling victim to scams, he said Singaporeans should keep their SingPass account details confidential, not share their one-time password (OTP) with anyone, and beware of unsolicited text messages or links. website directing them to suspicious portals claiming to be SingapoRediscovers reservations. platforms.
Purchases should only be made on authorized platforms, Tan added.
“STB will carry out regular checks and audits and will take advantage of data analysis to pinpoint suspicious transactions for future investigations. Cases of fraud will be reported to the police,” he said.
In response to Workers’ Party deputy Leon Perera (Aljunied GRC) on whether the vouchers can be used for arts-related activities such as festivals and plays, Tan noted that museums and galleries catering to tourists already are eligible for the program.
He said arts and cultural organizations offering complementary products can work with eligible merchants, such as hotels, tourist attractions and tours, to develop packages to qualify for use of the coupons.
