Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he regrets using the word “explode” when describing his transfer plans for Man Utd during the lockdown, while recently he has been impressed with the depth of his team.

The Red Devils have started the season with a win and a loss in their first two Premier League matches, but have won both of their Carabao Cup matches against Luton Town. and Brighton.

In April, Solskjaer was confident that Man Utd would be able to “Exploit” underprivileged clubs in the transfer market with some suffering financially.

However, after making just one signing so far this summer, in the form of Donny van de Beek, Solskjaer now regrets using the word ‘explode’.

“When we are planning, we have players here that we believe in,” Solskjaer said. “Of course, the transfer window is still open for a while and the club has been working and knows my point of view and we are here to strengthen it in the long term as well.

“I am not going to say what is acceptable or not for other clubs and teams in this difficult period. We will tell you when and if something happens.

“I think my writing during the confinement – ‘explode’ – was a bad word for me. I didn’t mean that in that sense, I meant that there may be clubs and players out there who have to move because of the situation and it could be something interesting for us.

“At the moment we have not had the, what is the word? There have been no such situations. Of course, we have lost a lot of money, like the other clubs too. And when I talk about the depth of the squad, we have a large squad ”.
