SINGAPORE – Nanyang Technological University (NTU) was visited by at least one infectious coronavirus patient, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced on Tuesday (September 8).

Three university locations were added to a list of patients visited by coronavirus patients while they were infectious.

They are: Quad Cafe at NTU’s College of Biological Sciences, Paik’s Bibim Korean Restaurant at NTU’s North Spine Plaza, and North Spine Food Court.

Also recently added to the list were Essen Food Court at The Pinnacle at The Pinnacle @ Duxton, Yuhua Market & Hawker Center and Apgujeong Hair Studio at Jem.

The Ministry of Health provides the list of places that infectious Covid-19 patients visited for at least 30 minutes and the times they visited so that people who were in those places at the same time closely monitor their health for two weeks at a time. from the date of your visit. to visit.

It has been said that close contacts would have already been notified and it is not necessary to avoid these places as they would have been cleaned up if necessary.

Meanwhile, a new dorm group was also announced on Tuesday.

Among the 47 new cases reported Tuesday, one was an imported case.

The one-year-old Singaporean baby arrived from India on August 24. She had received a 14-day stay-at-home notice upon arrival in Singapore and was tested while complying with the notice at a specialized facility.

Migrant workers living in dormitories made up the remaining 46 new coronavirus patients announced on Tuesday, bringing Singapore’s total to 57,091.

Of the 46, 25 had previously been identified as contacts from previous cases and had already been quarantined to prevent further transmission. They were tested during quarantine to determine their status.

The remaining 21 cases were detected through surveillance tests, such as the routine tests listed every two weeks of workers living in dormitories.

The average number of new daily cases in the community in a week has decreased from three cases two weeks ago to two in the last week.

However, the number of unrelated cases in the community in one week has increased from a daily average of one case to two cases during the same period.

With 53 cases discharged on Tuesday, 56,446 patients have made a full recovery from the disease.

A total of 48 patients remain in hospital, none in intensive care, while 555 recover in community facilities.

Singapore has had 27 deaths from Covid-19 complications, while 15 who tested positive have died from other causes.
