‘No one under my unit dries clothes outside due to dripping wet clothes from Bedok North resident’

Imagine never being able to leave your clothes outside to dry because it’s always humid outside.

Or at least that’s what stomper feels like DC, whose neighbor has been leaving wet clothes dripping and wetting everything in their path.

CC, who lives on the ninth floor of Block 530 Bedok North Street 3, said this has been going on since she moved in two to three years ago.

Several videos he shared show water dripping from his upstairs neighbor’s clothes and drops of water falling.

In a video, the facade of the block is wet.

CC told Stomp last Wednesday (September 30): “This became more prevalent about a year ago.

“Sometimes it’s even a leaky doormat, which I can’t accept.

“We have tried to talk to the neighbors more than 10 times, but to no avail.

“I’m not okay with these types of people because I can’t dry my clothes outside. If you watch the videos, you will notice that no one under my unit dries their clothes outside.”

In response to a query from Stomp, the Aljunied-Hougang City Council said it received comments about leaking clothing on the block on September 30.

A spokesperson added: “In accordance with existing inter-agency protocols involving units that hang leaky clothes, the city council issued a joint notice with the Housing and Development Board (HDB) for the unit stack on October 1.

“We will be monitoring the situation and will work closely with HDB on this matter.

“We urge residents to be friendly and considerate of other residents. This is crucial to building a harmonious living environment for everyone.”
