The 35-year-old man, who allegedly caused an estimated $ 1,000 worth of damage to the supply store in Block 304 Woodlands Street 31 after the store refused to sell him alcohol last Sunday night (November 1) , is currently assisting with investigations. confirmed the police in response to inquiries from AsiaOne.

Speaking with Lianhe Wanbao, the owner of the 24-hour grocery store noticed that the man had turned up around 11:45 that night, asking to buy some alcohol.

When an employee explained that the store was not allowed to sell alcoholic beverages after 10:30 pm, the man, who was not wearing a mask, began to yell angrily.

That’s when the employee called him for help, the 21-year-old said.

The store owner tried to reason with the man on the phone, but the latter was “incoherent” and “could not be convinced,” he recalled.

In his anger, the man tore down an entire display of pens, the owner added.

He immediately ran to the store, but the man had already left when he arrived around 12:30 am.

More than a hundred pens and markers were scattered on the floor. Products that had been displayed under the shelf, including medicine and candy, were also damaged, according to the owner.
