No kidding: 42 Foodpanda passengers show up in the same order outside a 7-year-old’s home, Asia News

An excruciatingly slow internet connection and a buggy app are nothing short of a recipe for disaster. Ask this seven-year-old from the Philippines who found about 42 Foodpanda deliverers standing outside her door.

The narrow street in front of their door was littered with pink uniforms last Wednesday (November 25) as all the passengers appeared, almost in unison, each carrying at least two boxes of fried chicken fillets and French fries.

The scene, which was broadcast via Facebook live by Dann Kayne Suarez, looked like it was straight out of a pandas-laden horror game.

According to him, the girl had tried to order two boxes of chicken for herself and her grandmother, as she often did so while her parents were working. His parents were also the ones who taught him to use the application.

Unfortunately, the fast-paced internet connection and erratic app behavior that day repeatedly showed that your order had encountered an error.

Over 40 taps later, he was finally able to place a successful order, not knowing that all of the previous ones had been processed.

It’s safe to say that she wasn’t expecting a full platoon of riders to show up, which made her cry.

While a bag of chicken fillet costs only 189 pesos (S $ 5.30), she would have had to pay 7,938 pesos for the large amount delivered. The girl only had enough money to pay for a single order.

“The boy cried,” Suarez told local SunStar publication. “I feel sorry for her because she didn’t know what had happened.”

Once word got out, the girl’s neighbors, including Suarez, immediately rushed to help her and helped buy the chicken boxes from the horsemen. While they had tried to help buy all the chicken, some passengers had already left unpaid to deliver their next order.

At the end of the 20 minute long video, the street finally cleared of the pink ‘pandas’.

Suarez added: “Guys, watch your kids when they order or use your phone.”
