Ngee Ann City, Bedok Mall, and various restaurants among locations visited by community COVID-19 cases

SINGAPORE: On Friday (January 1), several restaurants and three shopping malls were added to the Ministry of Health (MINSA) list of public places visited by community cases of COVID-19 during their infectious period.

Locations include the Takashimaya department store in Ngee Ann City, Bedok Mall, and Tang Plaza.

Also on the list are eight restaurants including the Japanese Charcoal BBQ House Renga-Ya in Chijmes, which was visited on December 20; Maetomo Restaurant & Bar at Sheraton Towers Hotel on December 26; the Bar-Roque Grill in Amara Singapore on December 23rd and the Tomi Sushi restaurant on Millenia Walk on December 31st.

The remaining restaurants are Chikuyotei Japanese Restaurant on UE Square River Wing, Ristorante Luka on Tanjong Pagar, Warong Nasi Pariaman along North Bridge Road, and Tamaya Dining on Cuppage Road, visited on December 28.

The market and food center at 84 Marine Parade Central were also visited on December 29.

Those identified as close contacts of confirmed cases have already been notified by the Ministry of Health.

As a precautionary measure, people who were in these places during the specified times should monitor their health closely for 14 days from the date of the visit.

“They should see a doctor immediately if they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection (such as cough, sore throat and runny nose), as well as fever and loss of taste or smell, and inform the doctor of their exposure history,” said the Ministry of Health. .

There is no need to avoid places where COVID-19 cases have been recorded, the Health Ministry added.

“The National Environment Agency will involve the administration of the affected facilities to provide guidance on cleaning and disinfection,” the Health Ministry said.

Singapore reported 30 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, including three in the community. Two of the locally transmitted infections are related to groups involving workers in the marine sector.
