A room in a condo apartment with private access to a single bathroom that’s just a five minute walk from the Boon Keng MRT station? Just $ 500 a month?
What an absolute robbery! So it’s a shame that the room only fits a single bed, with no space for anything else.
For a brief moment, the internet laughed at the listing of properties that appeared in a Facebook group today (December 9). The Facebook group post Property / Rooms For Rent / Sale Singapore has since been removed, possibly due to the owner being accused of offering a Lilliputian utility room for rent.
The images that accompanied the list were downright depressing. The entrance to the room is in the kitchen, right next to the washing machine. Inside the narrow spaces is a solitary single bed, which comes with a mattress and a mattress protector at least, that takes up the entire space, leaving no room to stand, sit, or store personal belongings.
The man who posted the list indicated that there is no air conditioning included; the only form of ventilation in the bare room would be a simple wall fan. But hey, at least the private bathroom is accessible, just a few steps across from the kitchen.
Instead of would-be tenants flocking to inquire about the luxurious abode, the post received scorn and ridicule from netizens who couldn’t believe the “generous” offer.
