Dejan Lovren hints that Anfield will stay 2020-21

Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has hinted that he could stay with the club next season, despite being linked to a move to Serie A.

The Croatian international was linked with AS Roma less than 12 months ago, and has made only seven Premier League appearances in 2019-20.

But he said in a recent interview the importance of maintaining a balance between youth and team experience for “many years to come.”

Another name linked to an Anfield departure is Xherdan Shaqiri, with his agent brother Erdin confirming that he expects renewed transfer interest in him this summer.

However, with his value potentially falling from £ 25M to £ 12M in recent weeks, Jurgen Klopp has a choice to make about the Swiss international.

Former Reds attack Nabil Fekir’s love life at Real Betis

French international Nabil Fekir was strongly associated with a large movement of money from Lyon to Anfield ahead of the 2018-19 season.

Concerns about a persistent knee injury eventually deterred the Reds from bidding, despite reportedly targeting him to replace Philippe Coutinho.

But Liverpool’s concerns did not deter Real Betis from making a € 20M move in June 2019, with Fekir scoring seven goals in 21 La Liga matches in 2019-20.

However, French soccer expert Tom Williams told the Echo’s Blood Red podcast that the club made the right decision about Fekir, due to his lack of adaptability to play on a high-energy Klopp team.
