SINGAPORE: More than 11,900 SingapoRediscovers coupon reservations for hotels, attractions and tours were made as of 4:30 pm on Tuesday (December 1), the first day of redemption.

Bookings in the five booking partners of the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) totaled around S $ 1.86 million in coupons and payments.

“There was a good mix of bookings across the hotel, attractions and tour industries, as well as great interest in cross-industry combo packages,” STB said.

More than 4,000 Singaporeans also visited 53 Community Centers (CCs) on Tuesday to request information on coupons, STB said.

As of Tuesday, there were more than 280 eligible products available to reserve on the websites and physical counters of the five authorized reservation partners.

“There is no need to rush to redeem coupons, as there will be more products available in the next seven months,” the tourism board said.

“STB will continue to work with the tourism sector to implement more attractive and profitable offers from now until June 30, 2021.”

The vouchers were automatically credited to the SingapoRediscovers Voucher account for eligible Singaporeans on Tuesday.

“We are encouraged by the interest that Singaporeans have shown in the vouchers and their support for tourism businesses and jobs,” said STB.

The coupons, announced in September, were given out to Singaporeans over the age of 18 starting in 2020, in a bid to boost the local tourism industry amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

They can be redeemed online through five authorized booking partners: Changi Travel Services (also known as Changi Recommends), Klook, Trip.com, GlobalTix, and Traveloka.

Those who need help with reservations can come to one of the 69 physical counters across the island from now until June 30, 2021. Singaporeans can also check their coupon balance at go.gov.sg/srvbalance.
