The development, revealed by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on the Here We Go podcast, comes after Greenwood only put pen to paper on the new terms in October 2019.
The 19-year-old has only found the back of the net once in the Premier League this season in a 3-1 win at West Ham in early December.
