Manchester United agree to sign Edinson Cavani: reports

The transfer window will close soon (Monday), and Manchester United appear to be struggling looking for alternatives if Jadon Sancho’s dream move fails.

One player who is strongly linked to a move to Old Trafford is former PSG striker Edinson Cavani. The 33-year-old Uruguayan international has been without a team since leaving Paris Saint-Germain in the summer when his contract expired.

Initial reports from French daily L’Equipe claim that United is offering a one-year contract, with the option to extend it for another 12 months with financial terms of around 10,000.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to sign a striker before Monday’s transfer deadline and the club is now doing the fieldwork to sign Cavani on a free transfer.

It has been claimed that Cavani might have to lower his salary demands to move to Manchester United in the current transfer window.

The Uruguayan forward scored 200 goals in 301 games for PSG during his seven-year stay at Parc des Princes.
