Manchester United are struggling to sell several first-team players this summer.
Jesse Lingard, Andreas Pereira, Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Chris Smalling, Sergio Romero are being bought to raise funds for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
United fans are growing restless as the club has only signed Donny van de Beek so far in the summer transfer window.
The club remains linked to Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, while Solskjaer also wants a left-back and central defender.
And according Sky sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, the lack of arrivals is due to United’s inability to eliminate his team.
“The starts are proving very, very difficult for United and there seems to be a sense of surprise at Old Trafford that they cannot get suitable offers for some of their players,” said Sheth. Sky Sports News’ The Transfer Show.
“For example, Chris Smalling is still training on his own outside the first team, but Roma have yet to reach United’s valuation. By all accounts United wants to do business with Roma, who want to do business with United , Smalling was on loan there last season, had a successful season there and wants to come back.
“All of those items are in place except for the most important item, the fee. It just can’t be agreed at this time.
